With the right garden tools, gardening can become an enjoyable, stress-free experience. While there are several different brands of garden tools on the market, you have to be careful in choosing exactly what you need.

Before going on to the more fancy items, get the basics right. The essential garden tools that you need are pruners, shears, hand spades, shovels, sprinklers and outdoor brooms. However, to make things easier for you, we have made a list of garden tools that are used by both amateur and professional gardeners, not including the basic items we have just mentioned.

Cultivators: These garden tools are equipped with tines to help cut hard soil. Designed to appeal to the veteran gardener, cultivators are ideal for cleaning moss, aerating and thatching, which are essential for the preparation of vegetable plots and flowerbeds.

Leaf sweepers: These tools are very useful for smaller lawns, on which they can operate fitted with a 200-liter leaf collector.

Lawnmower: While not strictly a gardening tool per se, a lawnmower has no replacement when it comes to keeping your lawn in shape. You can choose from among a variety of models and brands, but always make sure your choice suits your lawn.

Finally, remember that faulty gardening tools can damage your garden and injure you in the bargain. So even if you have to pay slightly higher prices, don’t pinch pennies when it comes to buying garden tools.
